Knowledge Hub

Currently, I look at our world with infinite hope. In my view, we have the power to shape what happens within the massive changes we are currently experiencing. Stories shape change. They offer us a vision of the future and enable us to build that future. The better the stories we tell ourselves, the greater, in my opinion, the chances of a truly bright future. What we urgently need now are the right stories, and, to my great delight, I've been receiving more and more of such stories in recent weeks.

Working from home has many advantages. Employees increasingly tell me that they love the newfound freedom of remote work and use it for specific tasks. They have also managed to convince their bosses that some days per month working from home will remain possible in the future.

The environment benefits from fewer business trips. Leaders are planning to replace in-person meetings with digital meetings in the future where it makes sense.

People are taking responsibility for themselves. Many individuals I know initially reported feeling completely exhausted after a day full of online meetings. However, these stories have since changed. The exhaustion was due to the lack of the breaks that naturally occur in the office environment when we move from one place to another and meet colleagues at the coffee machine.

"I like the idea of Knowledge Hubs and find it fascinating to explore them further. Of course, it's brilliant when knowledge is gathered in one place, and fantastic ideas almost automatically emerge while having lunch with other office users. However, in my opinion, it doesn't necessarily require a shared office space for that. Each of us can take this idea and create our own Knowledge Hub on our social media platforms.

Admittedly, it requires a certain talent in terms of strategy and structure. Since I do not possess these two talents, I wish for something like a Knowledge Hub Barcamp at this point, which specifically brings together two knowledge areas and is then permanently accessible through social media using a hashtag."
